The South Florida Asian American Lions Club (SFAALC) was chartered on September 28, 1998, sponsored by the Miami Lakes Lions Club, initially with 47 members. Since its charter, the members have been active in all sorts of community activities not only in the District 35-A, but in South Florida Tri-Counties as well. Board Meetings and General Membership Meetings are conducted without fail each month and likewise one or more projects is undertaken regularly. Three Club Lions were Board Members of the Florida Lions Camp for the Visually Impaired and Handicapped Children in Lake Wales, Florida. The Club sends delegates to the annual International Convention, USA-CANADA Forum, Multiple District Convention in Orlando, Florida and the 35-A District Convention.
